He began his career as an analyst at Gradient Analytics, a pioneer in forensic accounting and earnings quality research, eventually overseeing the majority of research. He then spent over a decade on the buy-side as the dedicated “short specialist” for three hedge funds, including four years at a short-only fund. Mr. Shannon is a CFA Charterholder and received his MBA from the NYU Stern School of business with an emphasis in accounting and quantitative finance.
